- One PC-Clown supplier configured a machine for a client of ours.
- It had persistent disk problems, and when their hardware jerk opened up
- the box (I was there to shutdown and recover lost data), I noticed
- that all FIVE (5) devices on the SCSI bus were terminated -- which no
- doubt explained why the poor controller had such a hard time scanning
- the bus - it took about 2 minutes, and all those "disk" errors.
-
- After the termination had been removed from all but the last unit,
- the bus scanned in about 5 seconds and all the errors went away.
-
- However, the machine "just worked" with all drives terminated. I
- don't know if our client sued their clown supplier, but I reckon
- they certainly had good reason to claim damages.
